Cycling coach training: MoSYA Union Minister gave an opening remark

The opening ceremony of bicycle coach (Grade-2) training organized under the program of International Olympic Committee for the improvement of Myanmar bicycle sport standard was held at Multipurpose Hall of Gold Camp in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 22nd November with the attendance of the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Chairman of Myanmar Cycling Federation, instructor Dr. Chester Alexander Hill, officials concerned and the trainees.

In his opening, the Union Minister said the cycling coach training is opened with co-organizng by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Cycling sport is one of Olympic sports. Myanmar Cycling Federation was formed in 1946 and a sport which brought the medals. Due to the shortage of new generation cycling athletes and coaches, after 2017 SEA Games, the cycling competitions could not be participated. It’s a important duty of the federation and the coaches to turn out the competent and brilliant cycling athletes to be able to compete in the international competition and collect the medals.

The Union Minister encouraged the trainees to make utmost effort for the improvement of Myanmar cycling sport standard.

After extending words of greeting by Dr. Chester Alexander Hill from England who is a technical expert appointed by UCI, the trainees and officials took the documentary photo and the ceremony was concluded. The training will be conducted with 19 trainees and 9 demonstrative riders at Multipurpose Hall from 22nd to 28th of November.
