EC meeting of MMC: MoH Union Minister gave a remark

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win together with Directors General of the Department of Medical Services and the Department of Human Resources for Health and concerned officials attended the executive committee meeting of the Myanmar Medical Council on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the patron of the Myanmar Medical Council (MMC) and the Union Minister expressed gratitude for systematic guidance of MMC, saying that the Myanmar Medical Council is an important organization in handling the ethical issues of medical personnel.

He reiterated that COVID-19 vaccination, regular and special vaccination programs are being provided to rural areas and health care team comprising of specialists are being provided health care throughout Myanmar. Also, Medical personnel have been turning out annually and Naypyitaw State Academy (Faculty of Medicine) has been opened in order to provide best health care to the public, he added.

Plans are being made to open the Myanmar Center for Disease Control and Health Staff Training Center and new hospitals, he said. Then, the Chairman of MMC said that the Myanmar Medical Council will strive for the improvement of medical education in accordance with rules and regulations.

The Secretary of the MMC reported the activities of Myanmar Medical Council and the decisions of the MMC’s Executive Committee meeting (4/2023) were approved and discussed by the members of the MMC. Then, the Union Minister gave a closing remark, expressing his gratitude to all members of the MMC for providing collective support for the development of medical education.
