Faculty of Medicine: New faculty opened at Naypyitaw State Academy

Opening ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine at the Naypyitaw State Academy was held on Thursday. First,  Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and the Chairman of Myanmar Medical Council cut the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the ceremony.

Then, the ceremony was continued at the Function Hall of the main building of Naypyitaw State Academy with an opening remark of the Union Minister for Education, Dr. Nyunt Pe. While delivering the speech, the Union Minister pointed out that Naypyitaw State Academy was established with the Faculty System.

It’s the very first Comprehensive University in Myanmar which comprised of 7 faculties; Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social Studies and Faculty of Sports. 

Today, Faculty of Medicine is opened with the collaborative effort of the Ministry of Eduation and Ministry of Health. For the first year course, a total of 31 students will be accepted. The modern curriculums and teaching aids are already provided and the internet access and equipment for e-library are already installed to implement the student centered teaching method at the academy.

And other necessities will be fulfilled as per academic year, he added. Next, the Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win gave opening remarks expressing his pride and joy for the opening of Faculty of Medicine, the 6th Medical University to produce qualified medical personnel who play the crucial role in nation’s health sector.

He also urged the students to become the reliable and qualified medical personnel who can shoulder the responsibilities of the nation.  Then, the Union Ministers and party viewed around the teaching aids, books and periodicals displayed at the Function Hall, practical room, class rooms and teaching process in Smart Lecture Room of the Napyitaw State Academy.
