Viet Nam’s fruit and vegetable exports are expected to reach 4.1 billion USD by the end of the third quarter of this year, which will be 24% higher than the turnover of the entirety of last year, according to data from the Viet Nam Fruit and Vegetable Association.

Durians, bananas, and dragon fruit are likely to be the largest contributors to the export growth, with durians currently in the lead, joining the billion-dollar export fruit group with a forecasted turnover of 1.5 billion USD next month.

Currently, China is the largest import market for Vietnamese fruit and vegetables, with an eight-month turnover of 2.3 billion USD, up 134% over the same period last year and accounting for 64% of the market share, closely followed by the US, South Korean and Japanese markets.
