Kushida Shrine in Fukuoka City of Japan has installed large decorative masks at its gates ahead of the last day of winter on the Japanese traditional calendar.

A Shrine began adorning the gates with the giant Otafuku masks 63 years ago. The lucky female face was made with Japanese washi paper on a wood frame.

The mask is over five meters tall and five meters wide. The decorations will remain in place until 15th February.
