Indian-Russian firms to jointly manage Sri Lankan airport

In a groundbreaking collaboration, an Indian firm and a Russian company have been jointly appointed to manage the operations of Sri Lanka’s International Airport according to Government spokesman on Friday.
The transfer of management responsibilities, approved by Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers, promises a new era of international cooperation in optimizing the airport’s performance.Accordingly, five proposals were received, and the Cabinet-appointed consultative committee decided to award a management contract spanning 30 years to selected Indian and Russian firms.
