Industrial Study Tour: Delegation led by MoI UM took industrial study tour

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than who were in the Republic of India to observe the Steel Mill, Pharmaceutical factory and Textile factory departed from Kolkata by motorcade at 10 AM local time and arrived at Duragapur Steel Mill at 12:20 and was welcome by Director Mr. BP Sing and officials.

Next, the Director Mr. BP Sing clarified the data of the steel mill, construction of Duragapur Steel Mill and development as per year, production of over 2 million tons of steel from the factory and the India is the second largest steel manufacturer in the world as it manufactures over 100 tons of steel a year and the Union Minister inquired about the availability of Scrap and nurturing human resources and Mr. BP Sing answered in detail.

Then, the delegation observed the Blast Furnaces manufacturing Liquid Steel, manufacturing Steel Billets and Blooms from Liquid Steel through Converter, rail wheels and other wheels, Steel Structural items in Section Mill and exchanged memorable gifts. At the nightfall, the Union Minister attended the dinner in Kolkata hosted by business entrepreneurs of West Bengal and the Union Minister clarified in detail the questions raised by the entrepreneurs.

In the morning on 18th January, the Union Minister met with the responsible persons from the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of West Bengal and exchanged viewed on the collaboration in the medical Services, solar installation Services, scholarship program, auto maneuvering systems repairing Services, transportation Services, providing necessary assistances in the steel manufacturing industry.

In the afternoon, Myanmar delegation left Kolkata by air and arrived at Ahmedabad City at 7:35 PM local time and was welcome by the head of security affairs of the State. In the morning on 19th January, the delegation led by the Union Minister visited Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd in Ahmedabad, responsible officials clarified work implementation and observed the pharmaceutical process.

In the evening, Union Minister met with the responsible officials from FCCI of Gujarat State and cordially exchanged views on mutual trade between the two countries and the investing in Myanmar by the industrial entrepreneurs of India. In the morning on 20th January, delegation visited Arvind Textile Factory, the factory In-Charge clarified the work implementations and the delegation observed the textile manufacturing processes in the factory.

In the afternoon, the delegation left the Ahmedabad of Gujarat State of India and arrived at Yangon International Airport in the morning on 21st January. The delegation led by the Union Minister was greeted by the Deputy permanent secretary, factory in-charges, head staff officer of Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection under the Ministry of Industry in Yangon Region, Deputy Chief of Mission of India Embassy and officials at the airport.
