Inspection of preparations: MGY CM inspected preparations for pagoda festival

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin accompanied by state ministers and concerned officials inspected the preparations being conducted for the successfully holding of Mann Shwe Set Taw Pagoda Festival which will be held on the 5th Waxing of Tabodwe (February 14) in Sagu Township, Minbu District of Magway Region.

First , the Chief Minister and officials inspected and heard reports on the arrangements to create landscape park and to grow ornamental plants at the entrance of 3 mile road, preparations of flower boxes along 3 mile road, construction of retaining wall and 2 box culverts and provided necessary instructions.

On arrival at Mann Shwe Set Taw pagoda, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the construction and renovation processes of festival ground and urged for the timely completion of the processes and coordinated requirements. Then, the Chief Minister and officials donated golden robe, flowers, water and oil lamps at Upper Settawya and Lower Settawya.

Man Shwe Set Taw Pagoda festival is annually held for 80 days from 5th Waxing of Tabodwe to the 1st day of Myanmar New Year. But this year, the festival will only be held for 64 days for being leap year in Myanmar Calendar. About 800 accommodations and 400 shop stalls will be constructed for the pagoda festival, it’s reported.

On the same day, the Chief Minister and party inspected the rain fed fields along Kan Yay- Yay Myat- gravel road and met with the sunflowers, onion, chickpeas and other vegetables growers and heard reports on achievements of the multiple cropping grown with solar Power water pumping system through artisan well. After hearing reports, the Chief Minister coordinated requirements on repairing drain along Kan Yay- Yay Myat- gravel road.
