Inspection tour: MoALI DM inspected agricultural development works

The coordination meeting for the development of agricultural and livestock sector in Shan State (East) was held at the government meeting hall in Kengtung Township in the evening on 21st December, attended by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo BoKyaw and State/district/Township level departmental officials and discussed the matters on food security, production enhancement of multiple crops including rice, work processes to be fulfilled for the development of fishery sector and accessibility of irrigation water.

In the morning on December 22, the Deputy Minister inspected water pumping from NantKhin Creek with Solar Energy system for the irrigation water for KyaingFaung village in kengtung Township and gave necessary instruction to the responsible officials.

Next, the constructions of office building for the department of Irrigation and water utilization management (water resource) and staff housing (district office) IWUMD were inspected. Next, the Deputy Minister inspected dragging of Namt Tin Creek to protect the farmland of agricultural research farms in Kengtung Township, water distribution building and upgrading of water distribution canal and development of hill farmland and gave necessary instructions to the responsible officials.

Then, the Deputy Minister also inspected the agricultural development works, cordially met with the local farmers and discussed the opportunities for the socio-economic development.

Afterward, the installation of water sluice gate at LweMwe Lake spillover, electing lake water level gauge, substation of No (92) Mechanized farming in MongPhyak Township and repairing of PhaiparGwe water sluice gate and gave necessary instruction to the responsible officials.
