Inspection Tour : MOI UM makes inspection tour in Kayin State

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn on Thursday met with the faculty members, students and departmental officials from Hpa-An University and Education Degree College at Zwe Ka Pin Hall.

The meeting took place for making discussions related matter on combatting fake and fasle news. At first, video clips including the Risk of Social Media Poisoning, Nation Building and Role of State Media were screened. In opening remarks, the Union Minister said that currently, destructive media are distributing fake and false news aiming to misunderstanding between government and the public.

Besides, terrorists intentionally kill the innocent people with no reasons and committing multiple crimes such as destroying state owned basic infrastructures in some regions and statesand collective efforts of local people are needed for country’s peace and stability, he added.

And, the Union Minister pointed out that terrorists sympathizer medias are distributing fake and false news to harm friendship between Myanmar and China depending on current situations in Northern Shan State. The government will maintain the China-Myanmar friendship and cooperate for the intersts of both countries.

After hearing the reports of Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo, the Union Ministry provided 6 pairs of DTH for Kayin State Government, 600 boxes of DVB T2 Set for townships and villages in the state, and 4 pairs of DTH and 400 boxes of DVB T2 Set for the families of Kayin State Military Station.

Then, the Union Minister enjoyed Kayin Done Dance performance and presented cash awards. At the Information and Public Relations Department (Hpa-An District Office) and Hpa-An Community Center, the Union Minister made inspection and gave necessary instructions to the officials. During the arrival at the Myanmar Radio and Television Sub-Station (Hpa-An), the Union Minister also provided cash assistance to the staff.
