Japan, UK and Italy sign treaty on joint fighter project (2)

Defence ministers of Japan, the UK and Italy sign a treaty on establishing a programm to jointly develop an advanced fighter jet by 2035.

Grant Shapps, British Defence Minister said "This major programme with Japan, Italy and the UK working together will create an entirely new fighter jet, a sixth generation jet. Supersonic, equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, the standard for future combat air.

And as has already been said, no nation can do this alone to this level of expertise, combining our skills and our equipment with our design and ability on production lines, using digital twinning, AI open architecture, robotic engineering and creating a truly cutting edge piece of kit." Dubbed the Global Combat Air Programm (GCAP), it is 'the standard for future combat air' that will use artificial intelligence and robotic engineering, according to British Defence Minister Grant Shapps.
