Kurgan authorities call residents to evacuate

Kurgan region officials on Saturday said the Tobol River level in the city is 1013 cm. The water level exceeded the maximum of 1994. Authorities call residents to evacuate. The Ministry of Emergency Situations claimed they strengthen the dike and the banks of the river, pump the water.
Russia and Kazakhstan faced record-bad spring flooding due to above-average snowfall this past winter and the problem of dike construction. Russian Orenburg, Kurgan, Omsk regions and the north of Kazakhstan have already suffered from big waters.
