Livestock and Agriculture: MOALI Deputy Minister makes inspection

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi visited Yangon Region Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department on Monday and oversaw the cattle breeding activities at the Animal Husbandry Division (PaungNgu) in Mingalardon Township.

The Animal Husbandry Division (PaungNgu) is carrying out the work activities including genetics research and cultivation of cattle fodder grass as well as providing technical assistance are carrying out for small-scale livestock and farm operators.

Next, the Deputy Minister inspected the operations of the Apiculture Division in Pearl Myo Thit Township. During the inspection, the Deputy Minister gave necessary instructions to increase private joint ventures, to make Myanmar’s honey meeting food safety standards used in traditional medicine and to encourage private beekeeping breeders.

Then, the Deputy Minister proceeded to Taikkyi Township central Land Records Development Training Centre under the Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics.

At the meeting, the Principal of the training center reported on the issues pertaining to the opening of regular training courses and teaching activities, conducting new courses in 2024-2025 fiscal year and accommodation for the trainees. The Deputy Minister coordinated the requirements upon the reports and urged all the trainees to strive to become skilful civil service personnel in its related field.

In the evening, the Deputy Minister visited Bago Region Irrigation Technology Center and met with the regional level officials of agriculture and livestock breeding.

Upon the meeting with Deputy Minster and officials, they conducted brief discussion about self-sufficiency, expanding the cultivation of monsoon and summer paddy and various pulses, achieving the targeted yield and meeting the current demand for edible oil not only for domestic consumption, but also for export as well as expanding the livestock sector.
