Massive Arrests in Tachileik: Over 600 detained for illegal online gambling and fraud

Over 600 individuals were arrested in Tachileik on Friday for illegal online gambling and fraud cases. Among the arrests were 148 Thai citizens, 1 Chinese citizen, and 540 Myanmar citizens. Acting on a tip-off, security forces and members of the police force raided the building owned by Kyaw Thein @ KhunMaungNyo on Toe Nayar Road in HsanHsai (A) Ward in Tachileik of Shan State (East).

This led to the arrest of 689 persons, along with 8 vehicles, 120 motorcycles, and desktop computers used for online games. Once the necessary procedures are completed in line with the law, the arrested Thai and Chinese citizens will be repatriated to their native countries, while action will be taken against the Myanmar citizens in line with the law.
