Meeting of UEC and Political Parties: UEC hosted meeting with Political Parties

The meeting between the Union Election Commission and the registered political parties wash held at the meeting hall of the UEC Office in Nay Pyi Taw at 2 PM on Wednesday.
Speaking at the meeting, the UEC Chairman U Ko Ko said that UEC will make all-out effort together with the political parties to be able to hold the coming election successfully. The State Administration Council promulgated the revised political parties’ registration law as SAC Law No (15/2024) on 30th January, 2024.
The UEC is implementing to release the revised political parties’ registration by-law in line with the revised law.The political parties need to fulfill the requirements with the revised law. In line with that law, the UEC will issue the necessary directives and the political parties need to exercise those directives. An election will be successful with the collaboration of UEC, political parties and the voters.
The UEC need to supervise the political parties in line with the law and by-laws as well as to provide necessary assistances to the parties. For all citizens who are eligible to be able to vote, the UEC will coordinate with the relevant Ministries and the awareness campaign for voting will be conducted with the cooperation of related organizations.
As the country’s dignity as well as the trust of the people lose at the 2020 General election, the next election will be the one needed to regain the dignity and to earn the trust again. The rightful cooperation of UEC, sub election commissions, political parties and voters is needed to be an election that can be put to the test amidst the international communities.
Next, the political parties, responsible officials from the Ministry of Immigration and Population and General Administration Department discussed the related matters and the Chairman of UEC clarified on the discussions and gave a speech of conclusion.
