Ministerial level meeting: SAC member held meeting with Russian delegation

A delegation led by the secretary of the Security Council of Russian Federation Mr. Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev departed from Moscow by Special Flight arrived at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport at 10 PM on 4th December to attend the ministerial level meeting on rule of law and security cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Security Council of Russian Federation and was welcome by a delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung.

The ministerial level meeting on rule of law and security cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Security Council of Russian Federation was held at MICC-2, Nay Pyi Taw from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM on 5th December.

The meeting was attended by member of State Administration Council, National Security Advisor, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister of the Ministry of the Union Government Office (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing, Deputy ministers and the Senior officials of the Russian Federation led by the secretary of Security Council Mr. Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev. At the meeting, the status of bilateral relation at the international front, military and military technological cooperation, international cyber security, collaboration between the law enforcement institutions, bilateral comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership were coordinated and discussed.

As the parallel meetings of the bilateral ministerial level meeting, meeting on commerce and economic cooperation between the delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Commerce U Min Min and delegation of Russian Federation led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Mr. Albert KARIMOV, the meeting on food security between the delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut and the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the Russian Federation Mr. Sergei LEVIN, meeting on Energy cooperation between Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Electric Power U Aye Kyaw and Deputy Minister for Energy U Thant Sin and Russian delegation led by Mr. Andrei BELYAKOV Director  of the international cooperation department of ROSATOM and the meeting on financial security between Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr. Lin Aung and the Russian delegation led by the Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Russian Federation Mr. Aleksei GUZNOV were held and discussed the related matters.

After the meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Myanmar-Russian cooperation was signed by member of State Administration Council, National Security Advisor, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the secretary of the Security Council of Russian Federation Mr. Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev and exchanged memorable gifts.

Next, the agreement on the cooperation of International Cyber Security sector between Myanmar and Russian Federation was signed by member of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo and the secretary of the Security Council of Russian Federation Mr. Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev and exchanged memorable gifts and posed for the documentary photo.

At the nightfall, the dinner of honor was hosted for the delegation of Russian Federation led by the secretary of Security Council Mr. Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev by SAC member, NSA, Union Minister for Home Affairs.
