The Ministry of Information has issued a statement on Saturday, addressing concerns about video productions that deviate from Myanmar culture.
The announcement emphasizes the Ministry's commitment to supervising movie and video production in accordance with the 1996 Motion Picture Law and Television and Video Law.
The statement highlights a current trend where some music video productions, driven by a desire for popularity, create and share video clips that are not in harmony with Myanmar culture on social media platforms. These videos are deemed unsuitable for family viewing due to their lack of ethical behavior.
In response, the Ministry declares its intention to take action against the producers, planners, and actors involved in such productions, utilizing the existing legal framework. Additionally, relevant organizations are urged to play a role in controlling and maintaining a balance in video content to align with Myanmar's cultural values.
