Opening of football competition: Mon State CM opened Inter-Clubs Football competition

The opening ceremony of Mon State Football Federation Chairman’s Cup U-21 Inter-Clubs Invitation Football (Men) Competition was held at the Students’ Sports Ground in Mawlamyaing Township in the evening on 22nd April and attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, State Ministers, State level departmental officials and football fans.

First, the football teams took their place in the sports ground. And the Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein gave an opening speech and opened the football competition.

After reciting sports vows by the athletes, Mon State Football Federation Chairman U Thin Maung Soe provided three hundred thousand Kyats of cash assistance to each football team. After that, an opening match between Marvel Football Club and Doe Kalay Football Clup was enjoyed. A total of 16 football teams participates in the Mon State Football Federation Chairman’s Cup U-21 Inter-Clubs Invitation Football (Men) Competition which will take place from 22nd April to 10th May, it’s reported.

In the morning on 23rd April, Mon State Chief Minister together with Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers and State/district level departmental officials attended the opening ceremony of an ordination hall surrounded by water held at Yawabawzana monastery in Myoma (4) Ward in Mudon Township. At the ceremony, the Chief Minister and officials offered the offertories to the members of Sangha and shared the merits gained from the donation of an ordination hall surrounded by water constructed with the cost of 200 million Kyats and the ceremony was concluded. After that, the Chief Minister and well-wishers offered day meal to the members of Sangha.
