Opening of hospital buildings :MoH UM and Shan State CM attended the ceremony

In commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day, opening ceremony of new 5-story hospital building of Sao San Tun General Hospital and 4-story school building of Taunggyi University of Medicine was held on Monday with the presence of the Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khing Win, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, Chief Justice of State High Court, invited guests and many other concerned officials.

At first, 4-story school building was opened by the Union Minister, Chief Minster, Chief Justice of State High Court and other officials in accordance with the tradition. Then, the Union Minister and party viewed around the lecture rooms of 4-story school building. After presenting certificate of honour to the donors of Taunggyi University of Medicine, the Union Minster and party opened 5-story hospital building of Sao San Tun General Hospital by cutting ribbons. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that the Ministry of Health is providing new treatment centers and school buildings for the benefits of locals.

He also said that the Ministry of Health is implementing 2 objectives such as to enable every citizen to attain full life expectancy and enjoy longevity of life and to ensure that every citizen is free from diseases by drafting working plans. And, he added that 2 Central Level hospitals, Nursing and Midwifery Training School are opened in Taunggyi Township and altogether 69 People’s Hospitals in Shan State (South) are providing health care services to the public.

And, he said that that Sao San Tun General Hospital was established in 1957 with the support of Soviet Union and it is an important milestone for Myanmar-Russian friendship. Then, the Union Minister concluded his remarks expressing words of thanks to those who gave supportive efforts for successfully completion of buildings.

Afterwards, the Chief Minister delivered words of honour and the Medical Superintendent of Sao San Tun General Hospital Dr. Win Maw Oo presented commemorative gifts and expressed words of thanks. After opening 5-story hospital building in accordance with the traditions, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and party viewed around the processes of providing health care services at emergency department, cardiac intensive care unit, medical unit and kidney blood purification center and encouraged the patients.

It’s reported that a new 5-story hospital was constructed with Union Fund of over 2.5 billion Kyats and necessary equipments are provided. Meanwhile, a new 4-story school building with over 1.4 billion Kyats was constructed and post graduate course for Master of Science in Medicine for 2024 Academic Year could be able to open at Taunggyi University of Medicine. At Nursing and Midwifery Training Schools, the Union Minister and party met with the trainers and trainees and provided cash assistance.
