Opening tourist guide training: MoHT Union Minister gave an opening remark

With the aims at the development of human resource in Hotel and Tourism sector and turning out the qualified tourist guide, the opening ceremony of regional tourist guide training (batch No-52) was held at Shwe San Ein Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw in the morniong on Monday and attended and given remark by the Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khine.

In her opening remark, the Union Minister said that the Ministry is giving the tourist guide trainings continuously and the tourist guide (basic) training (batch no-64) is being given in Yangon, the regional tourist guide training is also being given in the regions and states depending on the requirement and this is the 52nd batch. A total of over 10,000 national guides and over 5, 000 regional guides have been turned out. The local conductor training is occasionally given.

The tourist guides need to prepare to clarify the tourist attraction places skillfully including the Maravijaya, the world’s tallest sitting marble Buddha image in the precinct of Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw. The tourist guides can be metaphorically described as the minor diplomats etc.

Next, the Union Minister and Deputy Minister inspected the regional tourist guide training and cordially greeted the trainees. The training will be conducted for four weeks from 4th to 29th March and attended by 54 trainees.
