Opening of training: “Python for Econometrics” courseopened

Under the capacity enhancement program for the public service personnel, the opening ceremony of “Python for Econometrics” course was held at the meeting hall of the Office No (30) of the Ministry of Industry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 5th March with the attendance of Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, Deputy Minister U Yin Maung Nyunt, Senior officials of the Ministry and officials concerned.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that Python Programming Language was developed by Guido van Rossum and published in 1991. Python is a computer Programming Language that uses widely in multiple platforms.

It can be used to create web applications, data models and automations, calculate numbers and data, describe with the connection of pictures and charts. It can connect with the Database systems, read and modify files, handle big data, perform complex mathematics, it can be used for prototyping or production-ready software development.

The combination of the two fields of economics and metrics becomes Econometrics or economic measurement. Previously, Microsoft Excel was used for calculating economic measurement, flow of goods and financial statement, but in this age of information technology, due to inclusion of creating data models of large and complex data and calculating numbers and data, the works are carried out with Python programming.

This training is intended to teach the basic essential knowledge of Python in combination with economic measurement science etc.After the training instructor clarified the subject field to be lectured and the data of the training, the Union Minister and attendees posed for the documentary photo in marking the opening ceremony of the training.

The training is attended 43 officer trainees from the departments and enterprises under the Ministry and the training will be given for 6 weeks with 4 hours in a week, it’s learnt.
