Caracas' metro reported on Tuesday that a power cut had paralyzed three of its main lines. It caused leaving thousands of people without transportation in Venezuela's capital, while power cuts were also reported in at least three states.

State energy company said on its Twitter account that it was working to solve the problem which had affected "some areas of the capital district and Miranda state." Venezuela's national power grid has fallen into disrepair after years of inadequate investment and maintenance, according to the opposition and power experts.
