Regional Tournament : Magway CM supports U-25 Basketball Tournament

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin accompanied by the regional ministers, region chief justice, advocate general, departmental officials, coaches and athletes attended the opening ceremony of Inter-district U-25 Basketball Competition (Men/Women) held at Magway District Sports Ground on Tuesday.

At the occasion, in his opening speech, Chief Minister said holding this tournament intended to promote national heath and fitness level along with boosting team building sports activities and to turn out youths with five physical strengths and region representative young generation athletes.

He added that youths are urged to play and study sports activiteis until passionate about it to become national level representaive althletes. Later, Region Chief Minister donated sports equipment for the participant teams and gave honorary cash rewards to the students who made cheering performance.

Afterthat, Region Chief Minister and party enjoyed the first match Men Basketball representing Magway and Thayet districts. The U-25 men and women from Magway, Minbu, Chauk, Thayet and Aunglan districts are participating in the Inter-district U-25 Basketball Competition with round robin system on 18th and 19th of December and the final match is set to take place on 20th, it’s learnt.
