Religious Occasion: Buddha Pujaniya Festival of BagoShwemawdaw Pagoda

2,606th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of Bago Sutaungpyaye Shwemawdaw Pagoda commenced on April 18th.
After receiving Five Precept and listening to the sermon from the Sayadaws, Chief Minister U MyoSwe Win submitted the purpose of organizing the Buddha Pujaniya Festival, and donated offertories. This was followed by formal opening of the festival through a ribbon cutting ceremony.
2,606th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of Bago Sutaungpyaye Shwemawdaw Pagoda is set to hold for 10 days from 18th to 27th April with variety of programs including charitable acts, fun fairs and theatrical plays. On the full moon day of Tagu, collective offering of donations will be made to 500 members of the Sangha.
