Response to Fake News: Illegal media releasing fake news to incite stability

It’s found out that the Khit Thit Media released the news on social media that the money deposited in banks from donations and entrance fees to the Shwedagon Pagoda and the Botataung Pagoda was taken out at a rate of 2,100 kyats per US dollar, according to the pagoda boards of trustees and a source close to the finance committee.

Regarding the news, an official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture stressed that the news is a fake one. It’s reported that illegal media are releasing fake news with the intention of inciting the country's stability.
