With ill intentions aimed at destabilizing the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (South) and blocking the vital Union Highway, a combined team comprising dissenting members from the NCA-Signatory PNLA Group, KNDF, and KNPP launched raids on security forces along the Union Highway beginning February 21st, effectively blocking key locations.

Their actions led to the halting of transportation and the disruption of commodity flow, inciting panic among the public.

In response, military columns initiated operations along the Hsihseng-Mongpon Road and the Union Highway. Following 16 exchanges of fire, security forces gained full control of the Union Highway by February 29th, restoring transportation to normalcy as of March 1st.

During the armed clashes, some security forces made the ultimate sacrifice, while others sustained injuries. Additionally, insurgents' bodies, along with arms and ammunition, were seized.
