Rice exports earn over US 4 Billion in Vietnam

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has forecast that Vietnam's rice exports will reach approximately 7.2 million tonnes, earning over 4 billion USD by 2023. Despite the world’s economic challenges and political instability, Vietnam's rice exports have continued to achieve impressive results, becoming a bright spot in the country’s agricultural sector in the first half of this year.

In July, Vietnam’s rice exports continued to grow significantly. During the first seven months of this year, the country exported more than 4.48 million tonnes of rice, generating a turnover of nearly 2.4 billion USD.

This marks a 17% increase in volume and a 28% increase in value compared to the same period last year. The significant increase in Vietnamese rice prices, from nearly 490 USD per tonne last year to more than 530 USD per tonne currently, has contributed to the sharp rise in rice export turnover.
