Road Safety: Taninthayi Road Safey Council holds meeting

Taninthayi Region Road Safety Council held its second work coordination meeting at the region government office in Dawei Township on Wednesday.

At the meeting, Cheif Minister U Myat Ko said that Region Road Safety Council is to prioritize for harmonizing of the directions, road signs and traffic lights throughout the country, it appears that the road accidents have decreased in comparing with the previous years, it is also needed to accelerate five Quick Win plans for noncompliance concerning seat-belt wearing, driving under influence of alcohol, speed driving, helmet wearing and mobile phone using while driving for effective reduce of road accidents and the regional road safety council is called to put efforts into significant declining of road accidents in the region in line with the directives and future plans of NRSC.

Afterward, the Secretary of the regional road safety council explained about conducting of road safety awareness talks, issuing of driving licenses, ongoing plans and the Chief Minister coordinated the needs upon the reports.
