Rural Development: MCRD Union Minister tours in Yangon Region

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe arrived at BaYat Village in Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region on Sunday.

The Union Minister met with executives and members of BaYat Village Agriculture and General Cooperative Association, community elders, and local residents at the briefing hall. During the meeting, officials reported on work undertakings in respective sectors, and the Union Minister urged farmers to expand cultivation of suitable crops for the region and clarified that if farmers can cultivate triple crop plantation in the places accessing sufficient irrigation water, income of each family will increase.

He added that farmers should follow the designated agriculture methods to meet the target yield. The Union Minister then provided seeders to the officials.

The Union Minister and party later arrivedat No-1 Agriculture and Breeding Ward in Dagon Myothit (South) Township and observed small industries of K&T Family and Glory & Grace Bakery, as well as ShweTharapu Women Sewing Cooperative Association, in which the Union Minister saiddepartments of Rural Development and Small Scales Industries is conducting the vocational training courses in the villages.

He added that the necessary equipment and capital will be provided to those willing to run business among the outstanding trainees. The Union Minister also discussed regional development and coordinated the needs.
