Rural Development: New village road opened in Kyi TaungKan Village-tract

In commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day, an opening ceremony of new concrete road which connect Thagala and Thant Zin Hla villages was held at Kyi TaungKan village tract in Pobbathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw council area on Wednesday.

During the ceremony, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said that the ministry is striving for continuous development of village road networks in rural areas in collaboration with related sectors.

He added that the ministry is implementing for the development of socio-economic life of rural people and plans are underway for narrowing the development gap between urban and rural areas by adopting visions, objectives, strategic plans and action plans as well as rural roads and bridges development policies. He stressed that locals have responsibilities to preserve constructed roads and bridges for long-term durability. One of the locals expressed words of thanks.

Then, a new concrete road was opened by cutting ribbons. The 6.46 furlong long and 12 feet wide Thagala-Thant Zin Hla road worth was constructed by spending over 358 million kyats from the Capital Fund of Rural Road Development Department during 2023-2024 Fiscal Year.

After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister and party met with the locals at the village hall. During the meeting, the Union Minister made discussion upon regional development and coordinated the requirements on the reports by the locals.
