Rural Health Sector: Appointment of Midwives and providing medicine boxes

A ceremony was held at the Midwifery Training School in Myeik on Sunday to present appointment certificates to the newly trained midwives. Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region, U MyatKo, attended the occasion and delivered a speech emphasizing the vital role of midwives in enhancing health and education standards within the community.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of appointment certificates to midwives who successfully completed a 2-year training course at the school. Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister and party proceeded to Myeik People’s Hospital, where they participated in an event to provide medicine boxes to trainees of Auxiliary Midwives currently undergoing a 6-month training course.

These auxiliary midwives are being equipped to deliver essential healthcare services in rural areas, further contributing to the region's overall health and well-being.
