Smooth Transportation Access: Inauguration of Sin ThayChaung Bridge (Kyauk Chet)

As a gesture to commemorate the 76th Independence Day, Sin Thay Chaung Bridge (Kyauk Chet) was opened on Friday morning. Situated on Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway at mile post 223/1, the newly opened bridge is 210 ft long 4-lane facility.

After formal opening of the ceremony by cutting ceremonial ribbons, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo pressed the button to unveil the stone inscription of the bridge and sprinkled scented water on it.

Then, the Union Minister and party strolled along the newly constructed bridge. The construction of this new bridge was started on 1st of April 2023 by Bridge Construction Special Group (6) of the Department of Bridge. The new structure, reinforced concrete 4-lane facility, replaces the old bridge which only have 1-lane facility with iron frame.

As the entry/exit of the Sin Thay Chaung Bridge (Kyauk Chet) and Y-Junction are the intersection point of the trucks and vehicles travelling across Nay Pyi Taw , the new traffic lights are installed for easing traffic congestion and ensuring road safety. And also, the maps for traffic routes are systematically implemented in line with the urban characteristics.
