Study Tour: Myanmar delegation observes broadcast facilities in Thailand

Myanmar delegation led by Director General of Myanma Radio and Television U Ye Naing arrived back home after taking part in the Television Development Technical Workshop in Bangkok of Thailand from 15th to 19th January.
During their stay in Bangkok, the delegation held a meeting with officials from Thaicom, and discussed matters on launching of satellites, monitoring and maintenance works, abandoning the old aged satellites and launching new satellites, welfare services for regional countries, as well as extended hiring of satellite services, rating and payment process, extension of OTT services and maintenance of machinery.
After the meeting, the delegation observed Thaicom Teleport and DTH Center and ThaicomGlobalstar Satellite Gateway. Thaicom Co., Ltd launched 8 satellites to provide broadcasting and internet services to the government and private broadcasters from Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam.
The delegation then made a study tour at Public Broadcasting Television (PBS TV), and observed the independent fund allotment, broadcast of news and programs and technical transformation.
The delegation later visited National Broadcasting of Thailand (NBT-TV) and studied the work processes in the studios. They also studied the frequency sharing process for DVB-T2 & DTH, Radio, FM and private television channels by the Public Relations Department. The delegation left Bangkok by air and arrived back in Yangon in the evening
