Tour in Bago: Information Union Minister makes field visit in Bago

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win met with region/state/township level service personnel, faculty and students from Bago University and officials from Social Organizations at city hall  in Bago township on Wednesday to discuss about combating fake news, disinformation and spreading true news.

First, a documentary video on preventing risk of media poisoning and the role of state media and nation building was screened. In his discussion, the Union Minister said that all the people need to realize that the foreign influenced Medias are committing destructive acts by spreading misinformation among the people. He emphasized the need to read newspapers, and surf websites and social media platforms published by the Ministry to access the true news.

He stressed the need to make cooperation and collaboration with the government for the success of State’s directives and procedures. Young people are urged to strive to become good citizens liable for the country while the government is prioritizing youth sector and helping millennials to get onto the right path through several different ways.

Next, the Union Minister provided 7 sets of MRTV DTH dishes and 100 DVB T2 Set Top Boxes for Bago Region government, townships and villages and 3 MRTV DTH dishes and 100 DVB T2 Set Top Boxes for stations families. Bago Region Chief Minister elaborated on the implementation of development works in Bago Region, and counter action for fake news.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and party arrived at Kanbawzathadi Golden Palace in Bago Township and observed maintenance works and Hanthawaddy Ancient Research Museum. The excavation of Kanbawzathadi Ground Tiered Roofed Building was started in December 1993, and 3 feet 6 inches brick foundations, 50 remains of teak pillars built 6 inches apart and two places of pillars were discovered.

The Brick Laying Ceremony for reconstruction of replica royal buildings of King Bayintnaung took place on March 19th 1995. The Public Construction Works undertook the construction works and it was completed on 12th October 2002.

In the afternoon, the Union Minster together with Bago Region Chief Minister observed the products of MSME businesses at MSME Sale Center and Public Service Office (One Stop Shop), sale of handy cultivators produced by Agro Future Myanmar in Ottha Myothit 2 ward and production of sports gloves by Bago Sports Gloves Co., Ltd in Nyaung Inn Economic Zone.

While visiting the Economic Zones, the Union Minister explained the plans to support for the development of MSME businesses through media techniques.
