Tourism Promotion: Kachin CM opens Sandbank mini beach resort

While Kachin State Government is setting up new travel destinations for natured-based tourism development  in the State, a mini beach resort on Nawngtalaw villge-tract owned sandy beach mid-streamed island in Ayeyarwaddy river which was initiated in 2022 was opened second time on 23rd December.

At the opening ceremony of Nawngtalaw mid-streamed island sandbank mini beach resort, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan said that Kachin State has to implement systematically for the natural resources of tourism development and asked for visitor’s safety and ensuring no environmental damage since the resort is opened.

Then, Reverend U Shan Lwam made prayers and State Chief Minister, State Economic Affairs Minister and Chairman of State Travel Association cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Afterwards, the State Chief Minister and wife, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Government Ministers and their wives, departmental officials, members of District and Township Administration oversaw the setting up traditional food shops, mini beach tents, colorful umbrellas, flower decorations, photo booths and the areas where the sport grounds of football, volleball and Sepak takraw are going to be built and participated in Manaw dance in the jublication of Manaw ground together with the visitors.

Next, the Chief Minister presented traditional foods as gifts to the attendees and provided cash assistances for the State Travel Association.

Later, chief minister and party observed locals’ vegetable plantations on the Nawngtalaw island sandy beach and the waterbirds with speed boat in Ayeyarwadd river.

The sandy beach resort is opened from 8am to 6pm every day and the State Travel Association is arranged for the visitors who will visit through Myitkyina Township to be able to come using Kachin Su and Kyun Pin Tha La Pha mechanized boats jetties in cooperation with Boat Association, it’s learnt.
