Trump appeals disqualification from 2024 primary ballot in Maine

Former U.S. President Donald Trump appealed against the decision by Maine's top election official ruling him ineligible to appear on the state's primary ballot.U.S. Maine Secretary of State decided that Trump was disqualified from the state ballot in next year's U.S. presidential primary election on December 28, 2023 because of his role in the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Trump is facing similar 14th Amendment challenges to his candidacy in other states, including Colorado where the state Supreme Court ordered Trump removed from the primary ballot there.
