On Thingyan Akya Day, revelers flocked to various Pandals in Mandalay, enjoying the water-throwing festivities and charitable feasts.
Since the morning, Thingyan enthusiasts visited the Mandalay Mayor’s Pandal, where renowned vocalists entertained the crowd with Thingyan songs and dances, accompanied by Yein dance performances from the departments and amateur troupes.
In the southern part of Mandalay Moat, a unique display showcasing Thingyan Festivals from four different eras attracted crowds of revelers. Additionally, arrangements were made for joyous participation in water-throwing from Long Boats.
Charity feasts were generously served to all comers at the Thingyan Pandals, reflecting the benevolence of the Myanmar people. Similarly, along the northern and western parts of Mandalay Moat, revelers thronged the Pandals, some touring by car while others on foot.
Mandalay's prominent Myoma Instrumental Troupe also entertained revelers at the Pandal near Zay Cho Clock Tower. Concerned officials ensured necessary measures were taken to manage traffic and ensure the safety of all revelers.
