Vocational Training: Income generation program for rural families

The completion ceremony of the liquid detergent production course and baking course was held at the Thirimingalar Hall in Lewe Township of the Union Territory on Thursday, along with the presenting of business equipment to excellent trainees.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe stressed that forming small scale industries and implementing rural income enhancement projects will accelerate the emergence of the small and medium enterprises and enhance the income of the rural families.

He added that it will also help improve the production of value-added goods based on local raw materials and import substitution industrialization.

Next, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, U Than Tun Oo highlighted that small and medium enterprises play the crucial role in developing the nation’s economic sector and encouraging them will enhance the nation’s economy.

Also, the excellent trainees are urged to take the opportunities effectively in developing their own businesses and to become the successful entrepreneurs. The Department of Small Scale Industries is conducting the vocational training courses, aiming to assist the young and middle-aged citizens in establishing their own businesses. 

During the ceremony, five excellent trainees who are planning to establish their own businesses were selected, and presented business equipment which worth 6.2576 million kyats for baking course and 6.189 million kyats for liquid detergent production course respectively.
