Work Undertakings: Cleaning activity and paying homage to KyaikHtiYoe Pagoda

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, together with State Government Ministers and officials, oversaw the collective cleaning tasks around Mawlamyine Airport Runway on Saturday.

Under the supervision of the State Government, collective cleaning activities were conducted on a weekly basis across the country. The Chief Minister and party inspected clearance of bushes and garbage, collectively conducted by a total of 270 people including State/District/Township level departmental personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade, social organizations and local residents.

The Chief Minister then gave instruction for cleaning and greening, fire safety and systematic maintenance to ensure that there’s no encroachment in airport surroundings.

Upon arrival at KyaikHtiYoe Pagoda, the Chief Minister and party offered flowers, oil lights, water and gold foils to the pagoda. And, they paid homage to the members of Sangha led by Ovadacariya State Sangha Nayaka Committee member Residing Sayadaw of MaYanChoSanctuary Monastery and donated cash.

Then, the official of the Pagoda Board of Trustees received the donation from the Chief Minister for all round comprehensive renovation of the Pagoda and presented honorary certificate in return. The Chief Minister instructed to the pagoda board of trustees and the officials to ensure peaceful homage for the pilgrims, to collectively preserve the natural resources around pagoda areas and to attract more domestic and foreign travelers.
