World AIDS Day: Celebration of World AIDS Day in Taunggyi

The celebration of World Day of fight against AIDS was held at the city hall of Taunggyi on December 4. On the occasion, Shan State chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye made a remark. He said that the celebration of World AIDS day has been held 36 times around the world.

In accord with this year’s commemorative theme-“Let Communities Leads,” health care providers of the same age, network associations, target members, women, youths, community-based health workers, and community based organizations and HIV activists involved in anti-HIV transmission, prevention and combating processes.

He added that quality healthcare services will be accelerated. After that, Dr. Win Naing, deputy director general of the regional public health and medical service department, explained the process of combating the AIDS epidemic and  the state chief minister, region ministers, advocate general and officials viewed around the galleries that displayed at the city hall.
