Indonesia-Shanghai to boost cooperation

Indonesian Vice President Ma'Ruf Amin met with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng in Shanghai on Tuesday. During the meeting, the two discussed topics to strengthen economic cooperation in various sectors such as trade tourism and halal industry.

Ma'ruf invited shanghai business people to take advantage of the huge potential of the halal industry in Indonesia, which is valued at 135 billion USD. The Indonesian Vice President also highlighted the importance of cooperation between communities to strengthen good relations.

Ma’ruf encouraged educational cooperation especially in the vocational sector to advance human resources and to support Chinese investment in Indonesia.
