Meeting With Political Parties: NSPNC held meeting with political parties

The meeting between the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the representatives of the registered political parties was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 14th February and attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs Chairman of NSPNC Lt-Gen. Tun Tun Naung and committee members, Chairs, Vice Chairs and responsible persons from 42 registered political parties.
At the meeting, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung discussed the status of previous meeting with the group of political parties, receiving constructive advices from the political parties, the potentials to continue meetings, important role of the political parties in the peacemaking process, implementation of peacemaking process, coordinated discussions to be able to amend the crucial sections of the constitution and the matters to be carried out.
NSPNC member Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein clarified the 4 consensus agreements discussed and coordinated with EAOs regarding with the peace and development, 21 points to be revised and supplemented from the constitution (2008) and the points from the constitution that should be amended.
Then, the attendees cordially discussed on the issues needed to collaborate for the peace and stability of the country, to be able to form the group of political parties’ group, points from constitution needed to be amended, roles of the Hluttaws and their opinions and suggestions. Committee secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing made review on the suggestions and the NSPNC Chairman gave a speech of conclusion.
