CPPCC concluded the 5th session of its standing committee

The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee concluded the 5th session of its standing committee in Beijing on Saturday. Wang Huning, the CPPCC Chairman called on CPPCC members to pool their wisdom and strength to contribute to the targets set for social and economic development this year, as the country is forging ahead towards Chinese modernization.

The meeting approved a draft on the agenda proposed for the upcoming second session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, a work report by the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and a report on how last year’s proposals put forward by CPPCC members have been handled. A name list of candidates, including the secretary-general, of the upcoming session was also approved.
