Philippines upgrades quake off south to M7.4, no casualties reported

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Sunday upgraded the magnitude of an offshore earthquake that hit in southern Philippines on Saturday night.

The institute has recorded over 200 aftershocks, some with magnitudes of over 5.0 and 6.0. Minor damage has been seen at some Mindanao airports. There has been no immediate reports of casualties. Japan's Meteorological Agency lifted its tsunami advisory for the country's Pacific coastal areas following Saturday's strong quake in the Philippines.
