Viet Nam, UK & US collaborate on timber trade control

Viet Nam has signed agreements on combating illegal logging and the timber trade with both the United States and European Union which are Viet Nam's major export markets. On Thursday, Viet Nam and the US jointly conducted a seminar to exchange experiences and provided training on combating the illegal timber trade.

During the program, international experts shared their practical experiences in investigating and prosecuting cases of illegal timber trade worldwide.  The agreement with the EU is a Voluntary Partnership Agreement on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade.
