Tourism in Sagaing: Over 39,000 local & foreign visitors from January to May

More than 39,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited Sagaing Region from January to May of this year.

For the safety of the visitors and convenience for their accommodation, measures are being undertaken in Sagaing Region, Head of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in the Region said.

U Myint Sein, Head, Directorate of Hotels & Tourism (Sagaing) said "We are carrying out for revitalizing of tourism industry, safety of the visitors and convenience in accommodation. There are 60 hotels and guest houses in 11 townships of Sagaing Region.  Currently, 47 hotels have been opened and 13 hotels were closed temporarily. There were 9, 823 local visitors and 129 foreigners, altogether 9,952 during May of this year. About 8500 visitors have arrived Sagaign Region as of 28th June."

According to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in Sagaing Region, there are 38,503 local visitors and 516 foreign visitors, altogether 39,019 visited Sagaing region from January to May of this year. The income was 487.98 million kyats and 12, 235 USD.

To provide better services to the visitors, the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism conducts the training courses. Moreover, barrier free tourism is also provided in the famous tour destinations for the convenience of the persons with disabilities.
