False Reporting : Misinformation about security forces in Bago Region

In a recent incident, Khit Thit Media, an alleged illegal and destructive media outlet, spread fake news on social media platforms, falsely claiming the loss of innocent lives in Bago Region.

The fabricated reports suggested that an attack by Tatmadaw in Pyinmapin Village of Kyaukdaga Township on December 27th resulted in one death and three injuries.

Additionally, the misleading information asserted that another individual died due to a heavy weapon attack by security forces after a fire exchange between terrorists and security forces in Thayakone and Doetan villages in Yedashe Township.

However, a ground inspection and clarification from officials in the concerned areas revealed that there was no such attack in Pyinmapin Village on the specified date. Furthermore, no injured individuals were reported in the alleged fire exchange in Thayakone and Doetan villages.

The misinformation propagated by Khit Thit Media appears to be an attempt to tarnish the image of Tatmadaw and security forces while sowing discord and misunderstanding among the public.
