The Central Farmland Management Committee held its 11th meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation on Thursday.

During the session, Chairman of the Committee, Union Minister U Min Naung, stressed the importance of conducting thorough scrutiny when granting farmland for alternative purposes, emphasizing alignment with the Farmland Law and the guidance provided by the State Administration Council.

To address instances of advanced use of farmland for other purposes without prior permission, the Union Government is set to issue Standard Operating Procedures. Once permission is granted, a 6-month implementation period from the date of approval is mandated.

The Union Minister urged all committee members to strictly adhere to established laws and bylaws while carrying out their tasks. Following his remarks, the meeting proceeded with a sector-wise discussion led by the attendees.
