Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin presided over a work coordination meeting (4/2023) of the Magway Region Farmland Management Committee at the meeting hall of the Magway Region Government office.

In his capacity as Chairman of the Magway Region Farmland Management Committee, the Chief Minister stressed that policies are established to ensure the food sufficiency of the nation, to produce the quality agriculture and livestock products, to improve the living standard of the farmers and to use farmland efficiently.

Not only the agriculture sector but also the livestock breeding sector plays a crucial role in ensuring local food sufficiency. By conducting fish and prawn farmings at the waterlogged areas instead of plantation can prevent wasting farmlands.

Therefore, efficient land utilization is essential for regional development. Likewise, the farmlands which are used in growing crops under the guidance of the government shouldn’t be used in other ways.

The Chief Minister also urged departmental officials to conduct farmland management systematically in accordance with the rule and regulations for the development of the agriculture sector and agri products.

During the meeting, 1 case for permit to use farmland in other ways, 10 land cases, 12 cases applying to issue a second original or true copy for damage/loss of land authorization certificate (Form-7)and 1 case submitted by departmental organizations for compensation for land and crops were discussed.
