Regional Development effort: Kachin State CM attends the coordination meeting

A coordination meeting to high passing rate of the Grade-12 matriculation exam for the academic year of 2023-2024 in Kachin State was held at the State Government Office on Monday and the meeting was attended by Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan.

During the discussion, State Chief Minister said the efforts have been made to improve the State’s Education sector and high pass rate, and ranked at 2nd place in 2022-2023 academic year. He urged to try hard more success in this academic year.

He added that the Education promotion steering committee and sub-committees have been formed to carry out the tasks with emphasis. And he urged to carry out the tasks with the participation of the parents. Next, Minister of Social Affairs reported the future plans on high passing rate of Grade-12 and Regional Education head gave briefing the working activities and future work plan which were discussed by the members of Regional Government, Rectors, and other attendees, and State Chief Minister gave necessary instructions. 

On the next day morning, Kachin State Chief Minister and staffs from City Development Committee picked up trash and carried out the undergrowth activities along the Ayeyarwady River. Similarly, on the same day,Kachin State Chief Minister attended the ceremony of 16-day campaign to eliminate violence against women led by the State Department of Social Welfare under the supervision of the state government at the indoor stadium of Myitkyina Township.

At the ceremony, Chief Minister said the government’s activities and enactment of the law on eliminate violence against women, and urged to cooperate with each other to stop the gender based violence and respect the women. Next, officer from Department of Social Welfare explained the history of 16-day campaign to eliminate violence against women and played the activities of video clip. 

Then, children from charity centers performed with melodrama dances, Chief Minister presented cash awards and took a documentary photo.
